Fellowships in the private sector in Obstetrics-Gynecology

A few years ago, the Ministry put an end to compensation by the Quebec health insurance board (RAMQ) for physicians wishing to pursue a fellowship or additional training in fertility in private clinics. The Act respecting clinical and research activities relating to assisted procreation (sec. 14.1) has since been amended. Centres for assisted procreation in private offices can now train resident doctors via a service agreement with an establishment, and residents may therefore be paid by RAMQ during such training.
